Dental Implants in New Berlin, WI
Dental implants are a lasting solution for replacing missing or damaged teeth. They consist of titanium posts that are surgically implanted into the jawbone, serving as a sturdy foundation for replacement teeth. Unlike dentures, implants are fixed in place, providing stability that improves eating, speaking, and smiling. They also help preserve facial structure by preventing bone loss in the jaw, a common issue with missing teeth. Additionally, dental implants are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, enhancing your smile aesthetically and functionally. Our team at Willow Dental uses state-of-the-art technology and techniques to ensure your implant procedure is successful and comfortable.

What is the procedure for dental implants?
The dental implant procedure typically involves several steps. We will have a consultation before your procedure to determine if you are a good candidate for a dental implant. If so, we will set up your implant procedure where the titanium implant post is surgically placed into the jawbone, where it will integrate with the bone over several months—a process known as osseointegration.
After the post fuses with the jawbone, you will come back to our office, where an abutment is attached to hold the new tooth, and a custom-made crown is attached to the abutment, completing the restoration.
The entire process can take from three to nine months, depending on individual healing and treatment plans.

What types of dental implants exist?
There are primarily two types of dental implants: endosteal and subperiosteal.
Endosteal implants are the most common type, involving screws, cylinders, or blades surgically placed into the jawbone. Each implant holds one or more prosthetic teeth.
Subperiosteal implants are placed on top of the jaw, with the metal framework’s posts protruding through the gum to hold the prosthesis. These are used for patients who cannot wear conventional dentures and have minimal bone height.
